via Instagram Is it legend or myth? Well, if you dislike sweet wines, please disregard this post; Klein Constantia Vin de Constance Muscat probably isn’t for you.
But if you’re open-minded about all wines, definitely try this legend of South Africa, which began as early as 1774, according to labels found on bottles recovered from an ancient shipwreck. Constantia was preferred even over Yquem, Tokay and Madeira by the likes of Louis Philippe, Napoleon, Charles Dickens, Bismarck, Jane Austen … and the list goes on. So awesome to taste this liquid history in its modern renaissance!
TN – So balanced for a sweet wine. Amazing range of intense aromas and flavors, including melon, orange marmalade, honeysuckle, stone fruits (fig, apricot and mango), honey, ginger and licorice. 14% ABV, with strong acidity, balanced with all that luscious fruit and residual sugar. Amazing texture and a lingering finish. Stainless steel and 4 years in mostly new oak. Stellar vintage; 96 points all night long.
