via Instagram What an opportunity to visit with @larochellewine owner Chuck Easley and try a few of the fabulous low production Pinot Noir club wines he produces with winemaker Tom Stutz. Chatting with Chuck at his Sonoma property (adjacent to Kenwood Vineyards) we watched the redtail hawks trying to get at his chicken coop while he told me about his career in the wine industry, leading up to moving La Rochelle to Sonoma with his wife, Jill Hays. Definitely worth the visit anytime you’re in the Glen Ellen area!
2011 La Vie Blanc de Noir McIntyre Vineyard – Yeasty and elegant, this Methode Champenoise sparkling wine offers a bit of secondary fermentation toastiness on the nose and bright, fruity character on the palate. Handcrafted, only 95 cases produced. Drink or hold through 2021.
