via Instagram Coming to you from the birthplace of Malbec tonight; Cahors, Southwest France. ‘Black Cahors’ deep inky core. Aromas of dried black cherry cuvée, tobacco and roasted coffee beans. Youthful, brooding black fruit. Rock solid backbone and chewy, chalky tannins. Balanced like a high wire act. A statue of ‘Our Lady’ stands amidst famed vineyard, owned by the Costes family for over 20 years now. Buy as much as you can, hold through 2019 at least. This small production 100% Malbec should only mellow with age. Solid 92+ points. Paired perfectly with @macthorny’s rack of lamb, roasted new potatoes and steamed broccoli with parmesan.
